Spring turkey season is finally here in TN, with openin' day being last Saturday, went all last weekend and never got a thing, although I saw several and heard a few. Couldn't get'em to listen to me for some reason.
But this weekend has started out on a better note, saw 5 gobblers, 1 hen with a beard (rare) and 10 other hens, hit the call 1 time and had an Ol' Tom comin' right toward me, I waited til he was about 15 yards from me and blasted him, had him bagged by 7 AM, this fine Friday morning, he had a 10 1/2" beard and 1 1/4" spurs. Good Luck to all other Gobbler hunters, nothing like takin' a big Ol' Tom.
Beautiful Bird....Couldn't help but notice, one of the two subjects in this photo is without a beard...Ha!
